How to apply for an Australia Visitor Visa (Visitor 600)

My 4th Australia Visa

Australia has been my second home and exploring the country regularly is one of my plans after I finish my studies.

After my return in August 2017 from Perth, Western Australia, I planned to submit an application for a visitor visa for myself so I will be able to visit the country at anytime. I decided that I will be going to Perth for vacation in July 2018, so several days ago I submitted an application. The good thing is you can submit it online. My visa was granted four days after I submitted it. It was that quick, yeah! So here I would give some tips on how to apply for a visa online.

1. Scan all of these documents (to be uploaded to the system)

• Passport (with stamped pages as well), identity card(KTP), Family Card (kartu keluarga), Photo (pas foto formal), Payslip (Slip gaji), Bank Statement (rekening koran) of at least IDR 15,000,000 / AUD 1500 in the bank account.
• If you are a student, ask your parents for the payslip and bank statement and scan an enrollment letter.
• If you are unemployed, you have to show a bigger fund in your bank account.
• If you own a business, you have to scan and attach NPWP/Tax National Number and a proof of business.

2. If you have a friend in Australia, ask them to make an invitation letter for you (to be uploaded). Below is a template that you can use:

We have been friends for the past (how long in years) since (when?) and I would like her to visit me in (time you are visiting e.g August)

(Your name) will be visiting me from (When to when). During her stay in Australia, she/he will stay with me at my home at the address stated above.

I will be responsible for all of her accommodation expenses while she is in Australia. Upon the termination of her visit, she will return to (Your hometown )

(Your name) will be presenting this letter to you, together with other evidence to establish her close ties with Indonesia, and to assure you that she/he will return prior to the expiration of her stay in the Australia.

Your kind consideration to this request will be greatly appreciated.

3. Create a simple itinerary for your trip in pdf (to be uploaded)

4. Prepare a soft copy of return flight ticket (to be uploaded)

5. Open the website: online.immi.gov.au register yourself, log in and fill in the form.

5. Pay by debit/credit card. Visa fee: AUD 140 + AUD 1.50 Surcharge for card payment or approximately IDR 1,700,000

6. Done!

It is so easy to make a visitor visa to Australia now. You don’t have to go to Jakarta or any agency to do it. It is convenient and can be done within an hour.

You can get a visa for 3 months to up to 3 years, but it all depends on them how long they will give the visa for you! You might get single entry or multiple entries to the country. I am granted a 3-year visa with multiple entries. This way I don’t have to make a visa if I visit the country after my first visit with this current visa.
